Nothing to set up. The extension adds its button to Telegram Web itself, so you save things right where you see them.

Open Telegram Web

Go to web.telegram.org and sign in as you always do. The extension never asks for your phone number, your password or any other account.

Click the round button

Point at a video, photo or album and a round button appears in the corner. Click it. Files, music and voice messages carry a small blue button at the end of the row.

Stories have the same button in the story viewer, next to Telegram's own menu.

It lands in Downloads

A small panel shows each file's progress, lets you cancel or retry, and says Saved to Downloads only once the browser has written the file. Photos come at the largest size Telegram has; videos and files byte for byte as they were sent.

Big videos are written to disk while they download, so a file of several hundred megabytes does not fill your memory.

Pick a type and a time range

Open a chat's profile and choose Download from this chat. Pick photos and videos, files, music, voice messages or stories, and the past week, month, year or all time. VidHatch shows how many it found before anything starts.

Does it need my Telegram login?
No. You sign in to Telegram Web the way you always do; the extension works inside that tab and never asks for your phone number, password or a Google account. Your chats are not sent anywhere.
Does it work where saving is turned off?
Yes. The button also appears in channels and groups where Telegram hides its own Download option. Please download only content you have the right to save.
What is free?

Where do my files go?
Into your Downloads folder. Under the original file name when the sender gave one. Photos are saved at the largest size Telegram has.
Which Telegram does it work with?
Telegram Web on a computer. In Chrome, Edge or Firefox, in both versions: web.telegram.org/k and web.telegram.org/a. It does not run inside the Telegram desktop or phone app.
